We collect only what is necessary to fulfil your order and improve your experience. We do not sell your data. Ever.

ToneBound is a sound therapy instrument brand. When you visit tonebound.com, we collect, store, and use a limited set of personal information — described in plain terms below.

What we collect

When you place an order, browse the site, or contact us, we collect:

  • Order details — name, email, shipping and billing addresses, phone (optional), order contents.
  • Payment information — handled directly by our payment processor (Shopify Payments / Stripe / PayPal). We never see or store your full card number.
  • Communication — emails you send us, our replies, any forms you submit.
  • Browsing data — pages visited, device and browser type, IP address (anonymised), referral source. Collected via cookies and standard analytics.

How we use it

  • To process orders and deliver your fork.
  • To send you order confirmations, shipping updates, and customer-service replies.
  • To improve the site — which pages are useful, where the ritual education resonates, where customers get stuck.
  • To send our weekly Resonance Letter — only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time, from any email.
  • To comply with legal obligations (tax records, fraud prevention).

Who we share with

We share the minimum necessary data with the following providers, and nothing more:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform.
  • Payment processors — Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal.
  • Shipping carriers — DHL, FedEx, UPS, local couriers — name and address only.
  • Email service — for order notifications and the Resonance Letter.
  • Analytics — anonymised website-usage data only.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not share with advertisers beyond what is necessary to run our own paid campaigns (via aggregated, anonymised audience data).

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember items in your cart, measure page traffic, and personalise the experience. Most cookies are first-party and essential. Third-party cookies are used for analytics (Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics) and marketing pixels (Meta, TikTok) if you have not opted out via the cookie banner.

You can control cookies in your browser settings. Disabling cookies may prevent some features from working.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (EU/UK/California/Saudi/UAE), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your account and associated data (subject to legal retention periods, e.g. tax records).
  • Opt out of marketing communications.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • File a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, write to support@tonebound.com. We respond within 30 days, usually much faster.

Data retention

We keep your order data as long as our tax and accounting obligations require — typically 7 years. Email communications are kept for 2 years. Browsing data is anonymised after 26 months.

Security

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Payments are PCI-DSS compliant via our processors. We do not store payment card information on our own servers.

Children

ToneBound is not directed at children under 16. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it immediately.

Changes

If we materially change how we handle your data, we will update this page and email any customer with an account. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
